Cajo’s laser marking equipment awarded Key Flag

The Association for Finnish Work has awarded Cajo Technologies‘ laser marking equipment the Key flag symbol in recognition of a product made in Finland

Cajo Technologies Oy is a Finnish fast-growing laser marking manufacturer in the international marketplace with its head office and production located just outside of Oulu, Finland.  Cajo has made deliveries to over 50 countries for market-leading companies across e.g. metal and cable industries.

Company provides highly optimized and easy-to-use laser marking solutions for industrial traceability and product marking purposes. Cajo´s solutions have been designed to replace traditional marking methods such as ink jet, print, stickers, engraving, etching and painting technologies, ecologically and cost-effectively. Technology enables visible and permanent traceability markings that last throughout the product life-cycle even in challenging conditions. Cajo`s chemical-free marking technology enables over 90% reduction of carbon footprint of industrial labelling compared to markings made with ink jet.

The Key Flag is a sign of Finnish work. The symbol can be awarded to a product that has been made in Finland. In addition, the right to use Key Flag Symbol can be awarded to products with a minimum domestic content of 50 percent of its break-even cost. The calculation takes into consideration all costs related to the product.

Cajo has a patented laser marking method to implement color and traceability markings to metal without using additives. Laser marking systems and software are based on own product development. Devices are manufactured at Kempele headquarters utilizing domestic subcontractors remarkably. Research and development unit is also located in Kempele providing customer spesific industrial marking and software solutions.

The Key Flag symbol is very well known. According to a study conducted by the Association for Finnish Work, practically all Finnish consumers and business executives know the Key Flag symbol. The majority of Finns (75 %) also state that the Key Flag symbol has a positive impact on purchasing decisions.

Marketing Manager Reetta Mentu of the Association for Finnish Work states that people regard buying a domestic service as a way of influencing society and a value choice that contributes to Finnish competitiveness and prosperity.

“Consumers associate the Key Flag symbol with a positive image of domestic quality, reliability, safety, responsibility and employment. With the Key Flag symbol, companies can communicate important values to consumers and clients. 92 percent of companies that have been awarded the Key Flag symbol state that the symbol supports the sales of products and services,” tells Reetta Mentu.
